Cooperative Agreement 2 (CoAg 2)
September 2019-February 2025
Between FDA and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture
General Objective
The general objective of the multi-year Cooperative Agreement (Co-Ag) between the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was to develop and test alternative technologies to expand the availability of high-quality training opportunities using existing curricula. Additionally, it aimed to develop other training materials if needed (such as low-literacy materials) to support the successful implementation of the Produce Safety Rule (PSR).
Specifically, IICA researched the effectiveness of leveraging the widespread availability of mobile phones throughout the Americas to deliver web- and application-based training materials to Latin American and Caribbean members of the agricultural industry.
